I've been working on going through our old photos from over the years, particularly the past 6 years... to find extra special ones of family members with Grandma, among others. I came across this one, and thought it a fitting one to post since another Christmas has just passed. Those who are closely connected to us, or those who follow this blog, already know that Carol fought long & hard battling Stage 3-C Ovarian Cancer for the past 6 years, and only 4 weeks ago, today actually,... surrendered to that fight. This picture was taken only a month after she was diagnosed with her cancer. Here, she sits on her son's lap, smiling as though she hadn't any worries... but then, that was her way, wasn't it? Strong enough for everybody.
I just want to say that, although we are IMMENSLEY grateful for being so blessed to have her for all the Christmases that followed,.. six more of them...... You surely were missed this Christmas, Mom! It just wasn't the same without you. We love you & we miss you dearly.
